At Naale.in, our mission is to deliver timely, credible, and context-rich news, career notifications, technological developments, and community insights to our readers across Kerala and the global Malayali diaspora. As a responsible digital news publication, we adhere to strict standards of journalistic ethics, factual integrity, and transparency.

This document outlines our core principles governing content creation, source verification, corrections, and editorial independence.

1. Commitment to Accuracy & Verification

Accuracy is the foundation of our reporting. Before publishing any news report, analysis, or advisory:

  • Primary Source Verification: We prioritize first-hand sources, verified official documents, government gazettes, court orders, and direct quotes from credible authorities.
  • Secondary Sources & Multi-Sourcing: When covering breaking developments where direct access is delayed, we require corroboration from multiple independent, credible sources before publication.
  • Job & Recruitment Announcements: For employment updates (Kerala PSC, UPSC, Central/State recruitment, overseas vacancies), our desk cross-verifies syllabus details, vacancy figures, and application deadlines against official department notifications prior to publication.
  • Distinction Between News and Opinion: News reports are presented objectively based on verified facts. Any analytical commentary, editorial opinions, or guest columns are explicitly labeled as “Opinion”, “Analysis”, or “Column”.

2. Fact-Checking Methodology

Our newsroom implements a multi-step fact-checking workflow:

  1. Initial Assessment: The reporter or content creator verifies claims, figures, dates, and geographic locations against public records, verified databases, or on-the-ground sources.
  2. Visual Verification: Photographs, video footage, and screenshots submitted via social media or third-party channels undergo reverse-image searches, metadata analysis, and context evaluation to prevent the spread of misleading or out-of-context media.
  3. Editorial Desk Review: Submissions undergo an editorial review by a senior editor who evaluates tone, balance, legal implications, and factual integrity before clearing the post for publication.

3. Corrections and Updates Policy

We believe in complete transparency with our readership. When factual errors occur, we correct them swiftly and visibly.

  • Factual Corrections: If a report contains an inaccuracy (e.g., misstated names, incorrect dates, statistical errors), the article is updated immediately. An explanatory note is appended at the top or bottom of the article stating what was corrected and the time of the change (e.g., “Correction: An earlier version of this article misstated the deadline for applications. It has been updated to October 15.”).
  • Significant Clarifications: If new developments change the core context of a developing story, an “Update” tag is introduced clearly delineating new facts from the original reporting.
  • Retractions: In the rare event that a published story does not meet our factual standards and cannot be salvaged with a correction, it is formally retracted with a clear public statement explaining the decision.

To submit a correction request or report an error, please email our editorial desk at editor@naale.in with the article URL, the specific claim in question, and supporting documentation.

4. Sourcing, Attribution, and Originality

  • Plagiarism & Aggregation: We maintain zero tolerance for plagiarism. While we aggregate public notices, circulars, and wire releases of public interest, our staff rewrites them with local perspective, clear synthesis, and added context.
  • Attribution: If another media outlet breaks a news story that we follow or quote, we explicitly credit the original publication within the body of the article.
  • Anonymous Sources: The use of unnamed sources is restricted to cases where disclosing an identity would compromise the individual’s safety or employment, and where the information is vital to public interest. Any anonymous claim must be vetted by a senior editor.

5. Fairness, Balance, and Right of Reply

  • Impartial Reporting: We strive to present all relevant sides of contentious issues fairly and without bias.
  • Right of Reply: Individuals, businesses, or public figures who are the subject of critical reporting or serious allegations are given a reasonable opportunity to respond before publication. If their response is received after publication, the story is promptly updated to reflect their statement.

6. Transparency, Conflicts of Interest, and Commercial Independence

  • Editorial Independence: Our editorial judgment is strictly independent of commercial, political, or advertising considerations. Sponsors, advertisers, and investors exercise no influence over our news coverage.
  • Sponsored Content & Native Ads: Any commercial collaborations, sponsored stories, or paid partner content are clearly labeled as “Sponsored”, “Partner Content”, or “Advertorial” in compliance with digital advertising standards.
  • Affiliate Disclosures: If an article contains links through which Naale.in may earn a commission, a clear disclosure is placed in the article.

7. Grievance Redressal Mechanism

In compliance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules and local regulations, Naale.in has established a grievance redressal process for digital news content.

Readers may direct concerns regarding content quality, ethics, copyright, or regulatory compliance to our designated Grievance Officer:

  • Name / Designation: Grievance Officer, Naale.in
  • Address: Naale.in Media, Kerala, India
  • Email: grievance@naale.in / editor@naale.in
  • Response Window: All grievances will be acknowledged within 24 hours and addressed within 15 working days.
